As soon as you get a couple of miles out of Great Falls it hits you that the countryside is really changing again. This is rolling prairie with a lot of wheat fields and not a lot else. After seeing bunches of trees, rocky outcrops, and winding rivers almost the whole way this is different.
There are very few buildings of any kind, even less bill boards(the wind probably blew them away), and besides the people in passing vehicles not a lot of variety of things to check out.
When this grain elevator showed up on the horizon it was a big deal--something to break up the landscape besides the electric and telephone poles.
